Textile Covers
Textiles produced in accordance with the sterilization standard and providing barrier properties can be used as packaging and patient cover sets. Textiles that do not meet this standard should not be used for this purpose.
Medical paper and non-woven materials
These packaging materials can be used in steam, ethylene oxide and formaldehyde sterilizers. In the hydrogen peroxide sterilizer, cellulose-free polypropylene types are used. They are disposable materials.
Sterilization rolls / bags
✱ The risk of error due to heat sealing in three-sided sealed bags is 50% less than rolls that are heat-sealed on both sides.
✱ The opening direction of bags is more obvious than rolls, it is more suitable for aseptic opening.
✱ It consists of paper on one side and a transparent film on the other.
✱ Single use only.
✱ It can be heat sealed or self adhesive.
✱ Plastic film should consist of two or more layers.
✱ The bond between the plastic layers should not be separated and it should not impair the transparency of the plastic.
Polypropylene rolls / bags
✱ Its raw material does not contain cellulose.
✱ Used in low temperature sterilization methods.
✱ Single use only.
✱ It is closed with heat.
Container systems
✱ Metal, plastic, filtered or valve-covered boxes.
✱ It is moisture resistant.
✱ It has a structure that will not allow water vapor to accumulate inside.
✱ In order for the sterilizer to penetrate into the container, it should have parts with filters.
✱ Containers can be with disposable filters or with a reusable ceramic filter or valve system.
✱ Filters should be changed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendation.
For containers, tightness control should be done by the manufacturer at regular intervals. If there is no manufacturer's recommendation, the test should be done every 6 months.
Transparent plastic covers that maintain sterility
✱It is made of transparent plastic bag that prevents dust from contacting the package.
Applied after sterilization
✱ Extends the shelf life of the material.
