Air permanence +pore sizes
The pore size must be large enough to allow steam or EO gaz to penetrate and then sterilize the pack but small enough to avoid any organism to penetrate. This is the most important point!!!!!!!!

◼Air Permeance (ISO 5636-3 : 2013)
✓ This test determines the volume of air that will flow through a 10 cm² area of test
material in 1 minute under a pressure gradient of 1.47 kPa
✓ For Paper for Steam pouches (EN 868-3)
- Porosity > 300ml/min
✓ For Paper for ETO pouches (EN 868-6)
- Porosity > 18ml/min
◼ Maximum Pore size (EN 868:2009 Part 2 Annex E)
• Acceptance criteria < 35 μm (max individual value of 50 μm) for EN 868-3:2009 (Steam)
• Acceptance criteria < 20 μm (max individual value of 30 μm) for EN 868-6:2009 (ETO)
